Imagine Morganton 2040 gathers statistics, provides update
After almost five months of gathering public input for the IMAGINE Morganton 2040 Comprehensive Plan through online engagement, focus groups and Advisory Committee meetings, and several community pop-up and public workshop events, a Phase 1 Engagement Summary document has been created to provide details of the information collected. The summary helps to breakdown all of the information, statistics and input that was received.
The engagement summary highlights the following:
- Community input about the opportunities and challenges in Morganton
- Results from the online survey and interactive map
- Information from the stakeholder meetings and the community pop-up events
As we move into Phase 2 of the project to begin to plan for the future, engagement is continuing with two more public workshops. These next workshops are scheduled for October 24 from 5:30 to 7:30pm and October 25 from Noon to 2pm at City Hall in Morganton. Each workshop will cover the same material and both will be drop-in style, where you can spend as little or as much time as you like. These workshops will showcase how the public’s input has helped to shape the vision and planning principles. There will be more chances to weigh in on the growth options being considered and the future of key transportation corridors as well.
