Morganton is accepting applications for the position of City Attorney to join the leadership team.  This position serves at the pleasure of the board, but works with a wide range of departments on a day-to-day basis.  Previous experience representing a NC municipal corporation and familiarity with pertinent federal, state, and local laws is strongly preferred.  Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree and from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor; and licensed to practice law in North Carolina is required. Morganton offers a competitive employment contract, salary commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, and participation in the benefit programs, including participation in the North Carolina Local Governmental Employees’ Retirement System (NCLGERS) and the NC State Health Plan.  Please view our recruiting brochure and job description for additional information.
