The Human Relations Committee Recognizes Women's History Month

Human Relations Commission

March is Women’s History Month in celebration of the contributions made by women in history, culture, society, and economics.  Women in the United States have been fighting for their place within the phrase “We the People of the United States, and “All Men and Women are created Equal” since the signing of the Constitution and gained the right to vote with the Nineteenth Amendment in 1919.  The fight for equality and equity continues for women.

Since 1987, March has been designated as “Women’s History Month” to highlight and commemorate the vital roles of women in history and contemporary society.

The members of the Human Relations Commission of the City of Morganton encourages you to celebrate the women in your life and their involvement in enriching their communities.
