Position performs as a skilled mechanic in the City’s garage.  Position conducts preventive maintenance and a full range of engine, electrical, brakes, clutch, transmissions, metal fabrication, etc. Repairs on automotive, light and heavy equipment.  Operates equipment such as scan tool, brake lathe, floor lifts, air gun, battery charger, wrenches, crane, air compressor, welding units, and other hand tools.  Must be able to routinely perform heavy work exerting up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, 50 lbs of force frequently, and 20 lbs of force constantly.  Valid CDL driver’s license is preferred.  Applicant must be a high school graduate supplemented with course work in mechanical and /or automotive electrical trade skills, and considerable experience in repairing automotive and power driven equipment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  

Salary range is $ 36,059 -$54,088. Open until filled.
