Position is responsible for reading electric and water meters on assigned schedule and routes.  Work is performed through a combination of walking and riding trucks on the assigned routes. Employees are subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, and hazards of bothersome animals and work must be performed in various kinds of weather, extreme temperatures, and with exposure to oils, fumes and other atmospheric conditions.  Must be able to lift 50 pounds safely and to walk several miles a day to cover an assigned route.  Must be able to deal courteously and effectively with the public and to work independently within a routine schedule.  Applicant must possess a valid NC Driver’s license and have a high school diploma and some experience in working with data and figures.  Salary range is

$ 29,665 - $ 44,498. Open until filled. First review of applications will be on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 and interviewing will start the week of April 24^th.
