Position is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate metering of customer utility usage by handling service connects / disconnects, investigating meter issues, and ensuring necessary repairs are done.  This position works with closely with the Business Office in resolving billing issues and handling work orders.  This position requires technical skills capable of physically installing and removing meters as well as computer skills sufficient to perform actions via remote meter software; spends time in both the office and in the field.  Candidate must be a high school graduate, possess the ability to supervise/train/evaluate the work of others, have a direct knowledge of utility meter functions (including being able to read/record figures accurately), possess a valid NC Class C drivers license, and be able to routinely lift 70 pounds.  Normal work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, M-F.  Salary Range $16.51 / hr. - $24.77 / hr.
