Recreation - General Laborers (Part-Time)

This position performs a variety of unskilled, manual work and tasks requiring the use of simple motorized equipment and hand tools to maintain City facilities. Sweeps and cleans sidewalks, restrooms, and indoor/outdoor recreation facilities. Landscapes and maintains recreation parks and grounds including: mows grass, rakes leaves, trims shrubbery, removes trash/brush and other debris from grounds, sows and fertilizes grass, assists with lining of athletic fields, plants trees/shrubbery/flowers, prunes trees and shrubs, spreads mulch and other related activities.  Loads & unloads supplies, equipment, tools, and materials. Operates mowers, weed eaters, etc.  Performs related work as required.  Facility set up and breakdowns.  May assist in painting and light construction projects as needed. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 75 pounds safely.  Ability to bend, stoop and climb in a variety of construction and maintenance situations.   Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays for festivals. Outdoor environment.  Exposure to all types of adverse weather conditions.
