Wastewater Plant Maintenance Worker

This position will perform a variety of semi-skilled manual work and maintenance tasks.  The position will work in the maintenance of equipment, machinery and piping at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the several Lift Stations. The maintenance will consist of general custodial work (cleaning of administration building), assisting the maintenance staff with various maintenance duties and repairs, operating light machinery (lawnmower, truck hoist) to carrying out various assignments, and frequent checks and duties required at lift stations. Job will require being on-call periodically (Premium pay for on-call weeks).  Some maintenance experience is preferred.  A valid NC driver’s license is required.  Starting salary is $ 28,253.
