Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Position observes, operates, and adjusts a variety of machines, equipment and control mechanisms.  Work includes observation of the facility, recordkeeping, taking wastewater samples, and minor repairs.  Requires ability to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.  Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. safely.  Must be able to successfully complete the first level of State of NC required plant operator’s certification program within three exam cycles.  Must have a valid NC driver’s license.  Must be a high school graduate.  Operation hours will be from 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, every other weekend and some holidays are required. Starting salary - $ 34,341. ($16.51/hr.) Open until filled.
