Saturday, November 18 2:30-5:30pm

Tis the season for Downtown Morganton! Kickstart the Christmas season at the Winter Carnival on Saturday, November 18th on the newly renovated Courthouse Square. The day is filled with holiday entertainment for the entire family! Starting at 10:00am begin your day at the November Holiday Market, which will feature local crafts, produce, holiday gifts, breads and more! The Holiday Market is located at 111 North Green Street.

After you've done your shopping at the Holiday Market (and downtown), bring your family and friends to the Winter Carnival on the Courthouse Square, where from 2:30-5:30pm the square will transform into a holiday bonanza! Activities like face painting, bean bag toss, Letters to Santa, and even an ice slide will be setup for everyone to enjoy. The jolly man will be there too to hear what all of the children are wishing for this holiday season. After seeing Santa, hang out and enjoy treats from Frosty's Diner! Also starting at 2:30pm are the free Horse & Carriage Rides around town. Carriage Rides happen every Friday and Saturday throughout the holiday season but tonight is the only opportunity to ride free.

Then at 5:30pm as the Winter Carnival closes, attendees will head over to the stage for the Memorial Tree Light Ceremony and the Lighting of Downtown for the holidays.
