Car Breaking and Entering at Walmart Neighborhood Market
On February 21, 2023 at 7:56 a.m., Morganton Public Safety Officers responded to Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market at 1001 N. Green St in reference to a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle and larceny of a firearm.
Morganton Public Safety Criminal Investigator responded to the scene for further investigation and were able to identify a suspect shortly after. Investigators located one of the suspects, Jayden Iverson Hoffapuir, at 228 Edgewood Circle. A search warrant was obtained and some of the stolen property was located inside the residence.
Jayden Iverson Hoffapuir age 18 of Morganton was arrested and charged with N.C.G.S. 14-56, Felony Breaking and Entering to an Automobile and N.C.G.S. 14-72(B)(4), Felony Larceny of a Firearm. Hoffapuir was transported to the Burke County Jail where he was placed under a $10,000 secure bond with an initial court appearance on February 21, 2023.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Additional charges are pending in this case.
