Afternoon Traffic Stop leads to Drug Arrest

On Wednesday, January 24, 2023, an Officer with Morganton Department of Public Safety conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple equipment violation.  K9 Jaros was utilized and a subsequent search was conducted.  The passenger, Wendy Annas, 53, of Lenoir, was found to be in possession of 4 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.  Annas was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of a Schedule II CS, Simple Possession of a Schedule VI CS, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Annas received a $4,000 secured bond and her first appearance is set of 01/25/2024.
