Faison

On May 23, 2022 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Officers with Morganton Department of Public Safety responded to Shop and Save #4 at 100 W Fleming Drive Morganton, NC in reference to an Armed Robbery. It was reported by the victim that the suspect was a black male with a dark blue hooded sweatshirt on and was armed with a small pistol during the robbery.

The suspect came into the store, pulled a small pistol out of his pocket, and immediately pointed it at the clerk through the small opening at the cash register, the suspect then ran around the front counter and began attempting to take money from the register. The clerk picked up a white metal pole and began striking the suspect and a physical altercation ensued. The suspect reportedly left with an undisclosed amount of cash from the robbery. The suspect reportedly left while limping somewhere toward the direction of Table Rock Pharmacy. At some point during the robbery, it was reported that two shots were fired from the suspect`s pistol.

A short time after the Robbery a potential suspect was identified and warrants were issued on them for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Attempted Murder. The US Marshall’s Carolina’s Regional Fugitive Task Force was contacted and ask to assist in locating the suspect, Reginald Alfonza Faison, of Hickory, NC age 49.

On June 1, 2022 the suspect, Reginald Faison, was located at an apartment on 5th Ave NE Hickory, NC by the US Marshall’s Carolina’s Regional Fugitive Task Force. Faison was taken into custody without incident. Faison was transported to the Burke County Magistrates Office and served with multiple charges which included:

N.C.G.S. 14-17, Attempted Murder

N.C.G.S. 14-87, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon

N.C.G.S. 14-120, Uttering Forged Endorsement, Indictment

N.C.G.S. 15A-305(b)(8), Misdemeanor Show Cause Fail to Pay Money

Faison received a secure bond of $1,025,000 for the felony charges and a $310 cash bond for the misdemeanor charge. Faison was given an initial court date of June 2, 2022.

Faison has previous charges in North Carolina for Assault on a Female, Common Law Robbery, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Habitual Felon, Multiple Felony Breaking and Entering charges, Multiple Forgery and Uttering charges, Multiple Obtaining Property by False Pretense charges, Multiple Felony and Misdemeanor Larceny charges, Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Possession of Stolen Goods, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and multiple driving offense charges.

This case is still under investigation and additional charges may be pending.
