Female Arrested on 19 Warrants after Stealing from Local Business

On March 4, 2022 at approximately 4:00pm, Morganton Department of Public Safety received a call from a local business regarding a larceny that was actively taking place. Officers arrived in the area and located the two suspects walking under the bridge on Interstate 40. After consulting with witnesses, a female was placed under arrest for felony larceny. The other subject was arrested on an outstanding Order for Arrest. The female was transported to the Burke County Jail for processing. While at the facility, officers noticed numerous inconstancies with the female's statements and information. After an in-depth investigation, it was discovered that the female had been attempting to use an acquaintance’s information to avoid legal trouble. The female was positively identified as Lisa Sue Anderson, 39, of Haywood County. Anderson was wanted out of numerous counties in North Carolina and had 17 active Warrants / Orders for Arrest. Anderson was served with the following charges at the Burke County Magistrate’s Office:

Anderson received a total of $87,000 in secured bonds and several court dates. Her next court date in Burke County will be March 7, 2022.
