House Fire on Vine Arden Rd

On September, 12, 2023 at approximately 8:00 a.m., Morganton firefighters responded to 851 Vine Arden Road for a house fire. The initial report was that a female had made it out of structure after waking up to her bedroom being on fire, and her whereabouts were unknown.

Firefighters arrived within minutes and found heavy smoke and fire loads inside the residence. They were able to quickly knock down the fire, and ensure no occupants were still inside the house. The homeowner was found outside with neighbors, and was transported to UNC Morganton for an evaluation. She was cleared of any medical issues.

The investigation is still ongoing to find the cause and origin of the fire. Investigators from Morganton Public Safety are working with the owner and fire crews to gather information to determine a cause and origin. One occupant has been displaced due to the fire at the residence at this time.
