Man Charged with DWI following Traffic Crash
On January 19th, 2024 at approximately 6:00pm, Officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety responded to the area of Bethel Street and Woodward Avenue for a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers located two subjects who had been involved in a single vehicle traffic crash. The vehicle had left the roadway and struck a utility pole off Woodward Avenue. Officers conducted an investigation which resulted in the driver being arrested. Julio Tiguila Paxtor, 45, of Morganton was charged with the following:
- Driving While Impaired
- Driving During Revocation
- Safe Movement Violation
Paxtor’s license status was suspended for a previous implied consent offense. Paxtor’s vehicle was seized pursuant to NCGS 20-28.3. Paxtor was transported to the Magistrates office where he received a $3,000 secured bond. Paxtor’s next court date is March 7, 2024.
