Man Charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine and Fentanyl Following Traffic Stop
On June 20th, 2023 at approximately 9:30pm, Officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety conducted a vehicle stop on a silver Honda passenger car due to the registration being revoked. Officers located David Nathaniel Ross, 35, of Morganton, driving the vehicle as well as a juvenile inside. Officers noticed drug paraphernalia inside of the Honda which resulted in a search of the vehicle. As a result, officers located two firearms, over 211 grams of Methamphetamine, over 28 grams of Fentanyl, and over $9,000 in cash. Ross was arrested and charged with the following:
- Level 2 Trafficking of Methamphetamine
- Level 3 Trafficking of Fentanyl
Ross received a $201,000 secured bond and a court date of June 21, 2023. Additional charges are pending following the continuing of this investigation.
