Morganton Man Arrested for Statutory Sex Offense

On November 3, 2023, Morganton Public Safety received a report of a statutory sex offense. During the investigation it was determined Dylan Robert Owens of 113 Normand Drive, Morganton had allegedly committed sex acts with the 15 year old victim. Investigators seized electronic evidence during the investigation. Owens is currently charged with Statutory Sex offense with a child 15 years of age or younger. Owens is being held at the Burke County Jail under a $250,000 secure bond. The investigation is still ongoing at this time and more charges may be pending.
