Outside fire reported downtown

On February 19, 2023 at 1006 hours, Morganton Public Safety Officers responded to 105 S Green St in reference to an investigation of an outside fire. Officers spoke with the victim and he stated on February 18, 2023 at 10:44 p.m., a subject walked up to his front door and lit his outside flower planter on fire while he and his wife were inside their residence.  The juvenile suspects were captured on camera and were later identified by Officers and Investigators.

The Department of Juvenile Justice is assisting with this case and charges may be forth coming.
