Public Safety Responds to Report of B&E and Assault on East Side

On July 8th, 2023 at approximately 4:00am, Officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety responded to the 400 block of Tate Street after a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers located two adults and two children who reported they had been assaulted after three armed intruders broke and entered into their residence nearby. All parties were treated by Burke County EMS on scene. A reverse 911 was placed for the surrounding areas as a precaution due to the current locations of the suspects being unknown. Morganton Public Safety Investigators responded to the scene and took over the investigation. As of this time, no arrests have been made.
