Search Warrants leads to drug charges

On Friday November 12, 2021, Morganton of Department of Public Safety Officers and Investigators along with Burke County Narcotics and members of the US Marshalls Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force served a search warrant at 715 Carbon City Rd Morganton, NC after a lengthy drug investigation. After securing the residence Investigators located 11 grams of Methamphetamine, a small amount of Fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Sherri Yvonne King, 52 yoa, of the residence was arrested on scene. King was transported to the Magistrates office and charged with N.C.G.S. 90-95(A), Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Manufacture and Deliver and N.C.G.S. 90-108(A)(7), Maintain Dwelling, Vehicle, Place for Drugs/Controlled Substances. Additional State and Federal Charges may be forthcoming in this case.

King was placed in the Burke County Jail under a $25,000 secure bond and has an initial court appearance on November 15, 2021.
