Shots fired call near Freedom High School call results in arrest of two men

At 10:51 am. on 11/2/2023 Morganton Public Safety received a call for shots fired at the intersection of Independence Blvd and NC 126. Officers responded and received information a white passenger car was involved. Minutes later responding officers located a white Chevrolet passenger car on Camellia Gardens St.

During the course of the investigation Morganton Officers with the assistance of Burke County Narcotics and NC Probation and Parole located three firearms. J’Kobe Tre-Shon Ramseur age 20 of Statesville, NC and Tyron Shamar Turner age 20 of Morganton, NC were arrested. Both men were charged with Possession of firearm by felon and Discharge within enclosure to incite fear. Both men were transported to the Burke County Jail where they are being held under a secure bond.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilt in a court of law.
