Traffic Stop leads to Felony Drug Charges

On November 20, 2023, Officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety responded to a suspicious vehicle that was trespassing on personal property. Upon officers' arrival, the vehicle in question attempted to leave the property and was stopped by officers. During the course of the investigation, officers located narcotics on the passenger of the vehicle. Jessyca Alicia Pearson, 36, of Morganton was arrested and charged with the following:

- Felony Sch I (Ecstasy)

- Felony Sch II (Methamphetamine)

- Felony Sch II (Fentanyl)

- Misdemeanor Sch VI (Marijuana)

- Misdemeanor Drug Paraphernalia

Pearson was given a $15,000 secured bond and a first appearance on November 21, 2023. 

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
