Two Charged with Breaking and Entering after Report of Flashlights in Empty Home

On 5/27/2023 shortly after midnight, officers responded to a residence on Abee St in reference to a breaking and entering in progress.  Officers were notified after neighbors reported seeing flashlights inside the residence.  Officers came in contact with Clarence Waycaster, 46 of Morganton, after he attempted to exit out of the basement.  Officers then made entry and located Christian Barr, 25 of Morganton, inside the residence attempting to hide inside a closet void. 

Both Waycaster and Barr were charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering.  Waycaster’s bond was set at $500 secured and a court date of July 7th.  Barr’s bond was set at $11,000 secured for the breaking and entering charge along with an outstanding warrant for his arrest. His court date was set for June 15th.
