ULTA Felony Larceny

On November 14, 2021, Morganton Department of Public Safety Officers responded to ULTA located at C126 Morganton Heights Blvd, Morganton, NC in reference to a Larceny. Public Safety Officers were given a description of the suspect and suspect vehicle. The vehicle was located on Burkemont Ave where Officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, and a vehicle pursuit began. The chase led eastbound on I-40, when the driver of the vehicle wrecked at the eastbound on-ramp at Enola Rd.

 The driver and passenger of the vehicle then fled on foot where officers continued the chase. The passenger was located and identified as Jeffrey Barrett Jr. 07/12/1998 from 8621 Coralbell Ln Charlotte, NC 28213. Jeffrey Barrett Jr. was found to have several outstanding warrants from both North Carolina and South Carolina. Barrett was arrested and served with the outstanding warrants as well as Felony Larceny and Damage to Property from this date. Barrett was placed in Burke County Jail with no bond while awaiting extradition to South Carolina. 

Barrett was charged for stealing approximately $6,800.00 worth of merchandise from ULTA which was recovered and returned to the store.
