Vacant Building Catches Fire Again

Marshalls Fire
On February 2nd, 2024 at approximately 04:22, Morganton Department of Public Safety responded to 410 Carbon City Rd. (Marshalls) for a structure fire. Upon arrival, units advised of smoke showing and coming from the building. Morganton Public Safety fire units along with firefighters worked to get the fire extinguished within an hour. There were no reported injuries as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The early morning blaze is the second time fire has damaged this structure within a week.
