Recreation Advisory Commission

The Recreation Advisory Commission was created to investigate, study, and consider the needs of the citizens of the city for adequate and suitable recreational facilities, parks, playgrounds, athletic fields and programs. The Commission advises and makes recommendations to the Council and the City Manager regarding such recreational needs. The Commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council.

Meetings

The Commission generally meets the second Thursday of the month at 6:00 pm at the Collett Street Recreation Center, located at 300 Collett St., Morganton, NC, 28655.

Members

The Recreation Advisory Commission is composed of nine members who are appointed by the City Council to three-year terms.
