Concessions Coordinator - Recreation

The City of Morganton is searching for an individual to coordinate the staffing and operation of the concession stands for the various City recreation facilities and locations.   

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and operating the food concession locations at City’s recreation facilities.
  • Establishing and maintaining staff of part-time employees to operate the concession program.
  • Training employees on proper use of food preparation equipment, facility operations, and working with the public.
  • Monitoring inventory, ordering food items from vendors, receiving supplies and stocking each concession location.
  • Scheduling employees for each location; tracks and monitors work hours for employees.
  • Reconciling cash drawers and making bank deposits.
  • Coordinating inspections by Environmental Health Inspectors to make sure each location meets standards.

Work is performed under general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director.  Work is generally light requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force regularly.  Hours vary with regular evening and weekend shifts, and some holidays required.  This position is an average of 30 hrs./ week (varies with season throughout the year) and is eligible for pro-rated City benefits.  Starting salary: $14.61   Open until filled.

Graduation from high school and post-high school work in Business Management or related field preferred.  Must have a valid NC driver’s license and ServSafe Certification preferred or candidate must be able to obtain.
