Kitchen Fire

Morganton Department of Public Safety was dispatched to a fire at Broughton Hospital at 09:14 am on March 14^th, 2024. Upon arrival Broughton staff had evacuated themselves from the staff break room and staff cafeteria area. Staff was advising the deep fryers in the staff kitchen had caught fire.

Upon entering the kitchen area Firefighters found the Ansul Suppression System had been activated and the fire had been extinguished by the suppression system. Firefighters checked for further fire extension and risks with nothing found. Smoke was exhausted from the area with minimal fire damage recorded. No injuries reported at this incident.
