Man Wanted on Charges related to Vehicle Chase

On February 26, 2024, Officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety initiated a traffic stop on a 1997 Infiniti I30 (NC Registration Plate TMC-7033). The driver of the vehicle was identified as Tracy Lee Greene, 52, of Morganton. Throughout the course of the investigation, a K9 unit arrived on scene to assist the officers in the investigation. During this time, Greene began to flee from officers in his vehicle and initiated a vehicle pursuit. Officers engaged in the pursuit; however, chose to disengage due to Greene’s reckless driving and his identity being known. Greene was issued a Warrant for Arrest by the Burke County Magistrate’s Office for Felony Flee to Elude Arrest and several other traffic charges. Greene was last seen in the area of US Highway 64 in his 1997 Infiniti I30. If anyone locates Greene and/or this vehicle, do not attempt to approach him/it. Contact your local law enforcement agency regarding their location.
