Motor Vehicle Collision with Entrapment sends 2 to the Hospital

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, Morganton Department of Public Safety officers with B-Platoon and firefighters with C-Shift were dispatched to 1227 Burkemont Ave in reference to a motor vehicle collision with a vehicle rollover and driver entrapment. 

Upon arrival, units stabilized the vehicle and extricated the occupant of the vehicle within a matter of minutes.  Both drivers were transported to UNC Health Blue Ridge by Burke County EMS.  The driver of the second vehicle was cited for Unsafe Movement.  The northbound lane of Burkemont Ave was closed for approximately 1 hour.
